Yeah I did, I worked 6 days straight. And wow what a week that was. Sunday was my last day of that very long week.
I was the MOD (Manager on Duty) for the entire week. And let me tell you, I have never in my life seen so many unhappy people. I was hearing all kinds of complaints.
We had two men that attacked one of our cashiers (verbally). They both called her stupid, lazy, and dumb. She was devastated. She told me after they left that this was a week from hell. I agreed with her.
Had another guy that wanted to argue with me about our rewards program. Like I really have any control over that department. I did not argue with him. I just stood there and listened to him complain. He kept saying "you just don't see my point". I just smiled and said that is not my department. Here is the number.
Then there was this woman that stood in the middle of our store and screamed at the top of her lungs for her daughter. She kept screaming "lets go I am hungry".
Another guy complained about the smokers. I stood there and listened to him complain. He said I am so sick and tired of seeing people smoking outside. It looks bad. He then asked, cant your people stand out back and smoke? I just stood there. I mean its their break, they should be able to smoke or do what ever they want. Its their time not mine.
I still do not understand, why parents dont control their kids in a store. They just walk in one way and their kids run the other. I cannot tell you how many time I have to ask the child where is your parents. They normally point. I walk over and ask them to control them. (its an office store not a play ground)
One day I went on my lunch, I wasn't on it for more than 20 mins when all hell broke loose in the building. I ended up skipping the rest of my lunch to help 2 pissed off women. One was mad at our copy center person and the other was mad at our GM.
I am so glad that "the week from hell" is over.
New week, New vibes!

Nothing like working for the public! Ah!
Ditto Pat's comment. When our daughters worked at the public library, they were allowed to fill out patron complaint forms and in theory, the person could be suspended from library privileges for a period of time...but I don't think a retail store would consider it.
