This Time Last Week

This time last week

I was getting ready for Thanksgiving, we had a house full, Kevin's daughters were here with their husbands, I had my boyfriend with his roommate and Michael. We had 11 in attendance. Thanksgiving dinner was excellent. Kevin cooked the meal. Honey baked ham, green beans, baked mac & cheese, stuffing, deviled eggs, cheese tray. Deserts: 2 Pumpkin Pies, Red Velvet Cake, and 3 cheese cakes (I made).

Hot Death Uno

The true men watched football, the rest of us played a game called Hot Death Uno. It was a lot of fun. It pretty much broke the ice, since there were so many of us that did not know each other.

After the game was over, I had to take my boyfriend and his roommate home, since I had to get to bed, had to be at work at 4:45 am on black Friday. I went to bed at 7pm and woke up at 9pm. I laid in bed until 9:30pm I just could not go back to sleep. So I got up and played some games until I got tired and went to bed.

Black Friday

My phone rang at 3:30 am it was Mr. Bronx, he said are you up? I said getting there, he said he was on his way. I jumped out of bed and took a shower. I met him at the door and we took off to work. Once we got there, there was a line down the side of our building. The hours at work went slow, guess it was cause from lack of sleep.

A day of Sleep

Saturday I slept most of the day, I was completely exhausted. I did however have to work that evening. I was surprised that it was busy and slow at the same time.

Extended Hours

Sunday, I had to be at work at 8:30 am, Staples extended their hours. We opened the doors at 9am and closed them at 7pm. Talk about a long day. I don't think people realized we opened early cause no one came in until after 10:30. So the first hour and a half, it was dead in the store. Management seized the time with a meeting for all of us.

Monday Morning Phone Call

Monday morning I received a phone call from Cat my GM. She said "Welcome to my Management Team Allen" I am now a level 3 manager for Staples. I have been bouncing off the walls. I am so excited, I get full time hours, Insurance: health, dental,vision. Stock options, vacation days, sick days, personal days. And she said my seniority with staples, will be the time served at the other staples in Indiana too. That made me really happy.

I will keep you posted on this great news. I hope you dont get tired of me talking about my life and job. hehe
