A Surprise From K

About two weeks ago, K (General Manager) came up to me and asked what kind of computer I had, and what was the operating system I had on it. I told her it was an old computer and it had windows 2000 on it.

She said wow that thing is really old. I agreed with her. K came up to me last week and said her sister is thinking about getting a lap top and did not need a lap top and desk top too. She said I might be able to talk her into giving you the desk top computer.

Yesterday, K calls me into the office. Mr. Bronx said "your in trouble now" poking fun at me. He already knew what was about to take place.

I go in and K said, "I have a surprise for you!" She said "here are the keys to my car, go out and get your new computer".

I about fell over. I did not know what to say. Dumb struck, is what I felt. I walked out to her car, and there in the back seat was a new to me, but nice used HP Computer, also with it was the monitor and keyboard and mouse. Everything. I about fell over. I thought I would have just gotten the tower, but here is every thing I need.

I can honestly say I have never encountered a boss like K. She is caring, compassionate, and has a heart of gold.

I have been racking my brain, trying to figure out what I can give her & her sister in return. I did give her a big hug yesterday and said thank you very much. I even wrote her an email saying thanks, but I want to go that extra step. But what? I really don't have money to spend. Any suggestions?

Allen
P.s. K if you or your sister is reading this Thank YOU!!!!!

You've really thanked her enough - she must know your financial situation and is not expecting payback. Are you good a baking? Cookies or a loaf of bread - something little will suffice, IF YOU WANT TO.

Actually, I always felt a heartfelt thank you was much better than any other gift.

Sounds like K really likes you and your work. How about a gift of service - - an offer to help do a job of their choosing around their home? And if they don't need that, donate a couple of hours of community service somewhere in their name.

Allen, I'm really happy for you! If you want to do something for her, don't go over board. Some home cooked food would be good or ask her if she needs anything done, that you could help her with.

I am K sister and I am so glad you were able to use that computer. It was my pleasure to give it to you. You are an amazing young man and maybe someday I will get to meet you. Please enjoy it and that is all the thanks I need. God Bless
