Day 1 - No Smoking

I know I have not been writing on my blog. I have been taking the time to think hard about my life and where it is going. I need to change a few things, so that I can live longer, & happier. Last night at Mid-night I quit smoking. I have smoked for some 20 years now. I have quit in the past and stopped for a few months and then start again because of some stress in my life. The last time that I gave it up was when my Mom begged me to quit. I did, and it lasted a few months. But when she died suddenly, I started back again. I thought that I needed it. I wish I had thought something different.

I dont know how I am going to do at work. I might snap at some people. I am not sure. I will have to wait and see.

I am quitting for myself. No one has put me up to this. I want to quit for my health only. I still enjoy smoking. I did not like how much they have went up in price though.

I have already had one "freak" attack.

Sunday Valentines day, I worked for 11.4 hours. I was exhausted by the end of the day. Near the end of the day, we had this company come in and wanted me to reproduce their book for them 8x. Over 700 pages, with color in the book at the beginning of each chapter. This job would not have been bad to do, if they would have gave us some time to do it. They wanted it done by noon the next day. Talk about work. I did not finish the night before. I had to go in the next morning at 7am to finish the job.

Yesterday was my day off. I talked to Michael about us having a poker party here at the house. He said it sounded like fun. Michael is going to be the dealer, so that all that shows up can play with out dealing. Michael is good at dealing.

Michael wrote up the inventions and I started passing them out to all our friends. I am not sure how may will show up to play, but we will see.

The game is on Sunday. I hope I win, the extra cash would be nice.

I'm glad you made the decision to quit smoking - and for the right reason. One day at a time.

Just take it one step at a time Allen. It is admirable that you are tackling the smoking at all. You can do this!
