Jhoos - SCAM

I woke up this morning to find an invitation to Jhoos dating service, from a friend. I thought I would be nice and join up as a friend.

Well if you receive an email from anyone for this company don't do it. I went through all the motions, I was 1/2 asleep when I did it. Its a nasty thing if you ask me. It not only emails everyone on your email list, it also makes you download software that unblocks your pop-up blocker for advertisements.

The company says its a FREE service, but the catch is they make you look at all their ads, that you don't want to see.

I had to delete the program that it added to my computer, had to change my email password, had to email all my friends and tell them that this place is a scam.

I woke up in a bad mood, and now I am just pissed off. I am not pissed at them, I am pissed at myself for not checking out the company first. It also taught me not to do anything while I am just waking up.

ugh,
Allen

I received an invitation to join Jhoos, from a long time good friend of mine, but when they asked for my aim screen name and password, I got suspicious. That's mighty foward of them, wanting to get to my address book. I'm tired of involving my friends, in something most would have NO INTEREST in.

I'll have to let my friend in Costa Rica know that although we are friends, this site will be just another problem child.

I figure if it's so so good, I can join it down the road, but this morning isn't that "magic moment" lol

Those email requests are really a pain in the neck. Even if you decide you're not interested in joining sometimes there is damage done anyway.
Luckily, all my friends are millionaires in Africa with large sums of unclaimed money in European banks. I am so busy helping them move money into my accounts that I don't have time for email scams. :)

What program did it add to your computer? I can't see anything suspicious and was just hit with this "thing" this morning!

I wish I had seen this before I opened the one I got. I accepted the "invitation" from a friend, and it wanted confirmation of my email address AND password. I thought it was part of yahoo, so I did it and then it sent the same stupid thing out to everyone in my address book. I am LIVID!!! Can you tell me how much personal info they are able to steal from you if you opened it? Thank you.

@ Larry - You are welcome.

@ Michael - You are welcome.

@ Stan - I agree with you. hehe

@ Pamela - To be honest with you I dont even remember what the file was called. I was pretty much out of commission, with my roomy in the hospital.

@ Anonymous - To be honest with you I am not sure how much they can take. But if you had personal info on any of your friends list, I am sure they have it too.
