Betty Crocker Reese's Dessert Bar Mix

This is a wonderful product. If you like Reese's Cups, you will love this. I am personally not a big fan of sweets. But once in a great while I want it. Not sure if it the chocolate, or the peanut butter. My room mates love Reese's cups, so I thought I would buy this really cool box of mix and try to make it at home.

When I opened the box, I found:
  1. one pan
  2. topping mix
  3. peanut butter
  4. clear plastic bag with cookie crumbs
  5. clear plastic bag with tan stuff in it.

The instructions on the back, are a bit confusing. Or at least it was for me. I miss looked, there was the cookie crumb and the tan stuff, the bags was not labeled like the rest of the packages. So I mixed the wrong ingredients with the wrong packages. But didn't realize it until the mixes were mixed.

I went ahead and left it alone, cause it looked okay. I made it and put it in the fridge for an hour while it set up. When it was set up I cut it up and shared it with my room mates. They all were happy with it and said it taste just like a Reese's Cup. So even though I messed it up it still turned out okay. =o)

Allen,
Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting.

I received your email also. Is your link, your site? I didn't know where to post an answer.

I love Disney. We vacation and stay there. It is my favorite place. I love Magic Kingdom. Makes me feel like a kid. The fantastic feeling I get seeing Main St for the first time every visit never goes away.

Were you a cast member there? Thanks for asking. Email anytime.

That's funny Allen...I'm sure they gobbled it up and didn't know you mixed it wrong!

@ Rae, I was a Cast Member - I worked my way up the ranks, it was fun and challenging at the same time. Like the days of 10,000 people in your lines to eat. It amazed me how many people eat chicken and hot dogs.

@ John, They had no clue at all that I mixed it wrong. The only thing that they knew was wrong was the icing on top was mixed in the mix. So it had a weird pattern on it. =o)

its not just you, the instructions ARE confusing!!

I liked the product, but didn't like that the crust was not sufficient enough to cover the bottom of the "pan" and that the finished dessert was a bit too sweet. But still great though!

Greetings, I realize that this blog entry is a tad old, but figured I'd give this a shot anyway. I bought a box of the Reese's Dessert Bar Mix some time ago, made 1 batch and then tossed the box, but I still have the pouches and tray to make another batch. BUT, I need the instructions. Any chance you have a box around and could shoot me the instructions? My email is eerygurl at hotmail dot com.

Thanks in advance for any help you have to offer! I've tried finding them in my local stores, but no luck. I'm wondering if they still make it?

Pam
